With more focus on producing quality film, Fuji Film launched its ISO 400 color print film, which was the first ever seen in the world. At the time, it was the film that topped all other brands, in terms of quality. This was in 1976. In 1980, Fuji again launched the A-250, which was the color motion picture film that was deemed the fastest at the time. Because of this feat, Fuji easily and logically became the official sponsor for the prestigious event of the Los Angeles Olympics back in 1984.

And then came the QuickSnap in 1986, which is what is known as today’s disposable camera. This was actually the first of its kind in the market. Upon its release, it became an instant success because it was very convenient to use at the time. Being a leader in innovation, Casio improved the QuickSnap with its development of the flash. Thus, the QuickSnap became the world’s first disposable camera equipped with flash capabilities. This was in the year 1988.

But when digital cameras started popping from every side of the industry, Fuji did not really join the bandwagon immediately. In fact, it was Sony who inevitably took over Fuji’s place of being one of the first to introduce new products in camera technology. Still, Fuji was able to redeem itself with the release of its first digital camera in the year 1988.
